DESCRIPTION:The 2026 midterms are the most highly anticipated political event of the year. With the chance to reconfigure power relations in D.C. and beyond\, midterm elections in the U.S. have been proven to be pivotal moments for presidents\, parties and the country itself. In our talk\, Prof. Sean Theriault will discuss the election results\, the implications of these results for the Democratic and Republican Party and for the system of governance. How will the results shape the role of Congress and the Presidency? Which changes can be detected compared to the 2024 election and what might this mean for the 2028 presidential elections? SUMMARY:Thanksgiving Dinner - mal wieder anders
DESCRIPTION:Wir treffen uns im Taquitos in Koblenz zu einem unkomplizierten gemeinsamen Thanksgiving-Abend. Wie schon bei unserer letzten Veranstaltung wird à la carte gegessen und jeder zahlt selbst. Damit möchten wir bewusst ein Format schaffen\, an dem möglichst viele teilnehmen können – Mitglieder ebenso wie Familien\, junge Leute\, Schülerinnen und Schüler sowie ehemalige Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer unserer Austauschprogramme. Denn mindestens genauso wichtig wie das Essen ist uns das Wiedersehen: miteinander ins Gespräch kommen\, neue Menschen kennenlernen\, Kontakte knüpfen und gemeinsam einen schönen Abend verbringen. \nBeim letzten Mal waren viele Schülerinnen und Schüler aus vergangenen Austauschprogrammen dabei. Genau diese Mischung aus Generationen\, Familien\, Austauschschülern und Freunden der Partnerschaft macht für uns den besonderen Reiz aus. \nWer teilnehmen möchte\, gibt uns bitte möglichst früh per Mail Bescheid\, damit wir im Taquitos die entsprechende Anzahl an Plätzen reservieren können. \nWir freuen uns auf einen schönen deutsch-amerikanischen Thanksgiving-Abend mit euch! \n
